Apple 's latest $110 billion stock buyback authorization is the granddaddy of them all — the biggest in corporate history. Assuming an average annual $100 billion buyback by the Club name going forward, we wanted to look at just how much that is worth to shareholders. With more records set for its installed base of active devices and services in Q2, Apple stock rose nearly 6% on Friday, the session following Thursday evening's release. The net cash position is important because Apple aims to be net cash neutral over time. At a valuation of 28 times earnings, we arrive at a share price of about $182 each, right around where it was trading Wednesday.

Multi-strategy mightThe culture shift at Marshall Wace is just the latest ripple effect to come from the vast expansion of power, assets, and clout of the largest multi-strategy hedge funds. For Marshall Wace, that looks like a charge that can be up to 0.75% of the $22.4 billion Eureka fund's value — more than $150 million — on top of the set management fees and variable performance fees the firm already charges. A person close to the firm said that certain people still have access to aggregated positions, but the restriction helps Marshall Wace manage "complexity and confidentiality" as the manager continues to grow.

The program, which will later be available in other states, aims to help customers "live 100 healthy years," Jonathan Swerdlin, co-founder of Function Health, told CNBC. Research suggests that weight, or strength, training is beneficial for longevity because it builds muscle mass, which helps maintain strength and mobility into older age. One 2022 study found that those who did 30 minutes of strength training a week were 10% to 20% less likely to die from chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, diabetes, and cancer.
